Chandigarh Airport is a domestic one. Chandigarh is well connected by daily flights. The airport is 11 km from the city centre. Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Air Deccan connects Chandigarh with New Delhi the National Capital. Chandigarh Tourism has well maintained Tourist Information Centre at the Airport. Deccan has recently started the Jammu-Chandigarh Air connection which is a great help for pilgrims to “Mata Vaishno Devi”.

By Rail


Chandigarh is connected to other parts of the country through a well maintained railway network. The Chandigarh Railway Station is 8 Kms from the city centre in Sector 17. The twice daily Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi and Himalayan Queen connect New Delhi and Chandigarh. By Road:

Chandigarh is well connected by state and national highways. National Highway No.22 and 21 passes through Chandigarh. The Inter-State Bus Terminus Complex (ISBT) is located in the heart of the city. ISBT, located at Sector 17 and Bus Stand, Sector 43 are two main bus stands in Chandigarh where from one can move to all the major cities of neighboring states.A fleet of  417 buses is there to serve  Chandigarh, 209 buses run on local/suburban routes, 208 buses run on Interstate routes covering Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, U.P., Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Delhi & J & K.
